I try to get back within a day or two. If it is a weekend, give me a bit longer. Every message gets read and most get a reply. If you do not hear back within 3 business days, check your spam folder — occasionally replies land there.

Bug reports

Found something broken? I want to know. A good bug report includes:

• Which calculator or page — the URL or tool name.
• What numbers you typed in — the exact inputs that triggered the issue.
• What you expected vs. what happened — the specific discrepancy.
• Screenshot if you can — a picture of the wrong result is worth a thousand words.
• Your browser and device — Chrome on Windows, Safari on iPhone, etc. Some issues are browser-specific.

That is all I need. No need for a fancy form. I will confirm receipt and let you know when it is fixed. If the bug affects a calculation result, I will also update the Methodology page to reflect the correction.

Calculator ideas

Got a tool you wish existed? Let me know. I am always looking for useful calculators to build next. The best suggestions include:

• The specific question — "I want to know if I should X or Y" is more useful than "add more calculators."
• The inputs and outputs — What numbers go in? What result do you need?
• Why existing tools do not cut it — What is missing from what is already out there?

I cannot build everything, but I prioritize suggestions that help the most people. If I build your suggestion, I will credit you (by name or anonymously — your choice) in the tool description.

Corrections & updates

If you spot a factual error — a wrong formula, an outdated rate, a misleading explanation — please tell me. I would rather fix a mistake than leave it live. Corrections to calculation methods are updated within 48 hours. Factual corrections to blog posts are updated with a note at the top of the article.

When you flag a correction, please include the correct information and a source if you have one. I verify every correction against primary sources (CFPB, Federal Reserve, IRS) before publishing.

Advertising

For ad-related questions, put "Advertising" in the subject line. PayoffCalcs uses Google AdSense to cover hosting costs. I do not sell direct ad placements, do not accept payment for product mentions, and do not allow sponsored content that is not clearly labeled.

Response times

• Bug reports: Acknowledged within 24 hours, fix within 1-7 days depending on severity.
• Calculator suggestions: Acknowledged within 48 hours. Built based on priority and complexity.
• General questions: Replied within 1-3 business days.
• Corrections: Verified and fixed within 48 hours.

If your matter is urgent (a bug affecting a real financial decision), put "URGENT" in the subject line and I will prioritize it.
